Hello Dolly

The Abbeville Opera House

This American Musical Theatre Masterpiece first appeared on Broadway more than fifty years ago. HELLO DOLLY is a blockbuster Broadway hit, bursting with humor, romance, high-energy and some of the greatest songs in musical theatre history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, played by Maryjane Swygert, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are certain to thrill and entertain the entire family. the show’s memorable songs include “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello Dolly,” “Elegance,” and “It Only Takes a Moment.” A sure fire sell-out and a great way to kick off the 38th Summer Season at the Abbeville Opera House.

Harris Cashes Out!

The Abbeville Opera House

Forty years ago, composer/lyricist Harris Welborn wrote an off-Broadway musical which closed after one performance. this wonderful new comedy by Canadian playwright Londos D’Arrigo finds the now elderly Harris down on his luck, living in a run-down apartment building dependent on the charity of his domineering sister – yet still dreaming of making it on Broadway. The laughs unfold when the literate and witty Harris is thrown together with the flaky young woman who lives down the hall. His life then takes a hilarious turn when her scheming boyfriend comes up with a devious plan to cash in on Harris’ past! A great show for tour bus, seniors and church groups. Don’t miss it!

Dearly Beloved

The Abbeville Opera House

DEARLY BELOVED is the wonderfully funny, shockingly true-to-life and on-target skewering of a texas family on the occasion of the wedding of one of its favorite daughters. The Furtrelle Sisters, Frankie, Honey Raye and Twink, played by Kimberly Broome, Sommer DuBose and Wendy Cox Capps, are back on the Opera House stage and this time they are throwing a wedding. Frankie has almost made herself sick with elaborate preparations for her daughter Tina Jo’s antebellum-inspired wedding, and the rumor mill in their small town of Fayro, Texas is working overtime. Audiences fell in love with our most recent Christmas production featuring the Futrelle Sisters, CHRISTMAS BELLES, and all of the hysterically funny citizens of Fayro are back in DEARLY BELOVED. You don’t want to miss this wonderfully funny comedy. No matter where you are from, you are likely to recognize many of these delightful characters. A great way to bring the summer theatre season to a close.
